About Us

SeaTerrace is a family-based breeder of Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers.

SeaTerrace Tollers Reg’d Kennel was registered with the Canadian Kennel Club in 2009, and all of our puppies are registered under that Kennel name. I, Aldean Riddy am the Registered owner of the kennel, and I am a retiree with time to spend with the tollers/litters. I am situated on Vancouver Island in the Beautiful Comox Valley on a small acreage which backs onto Seal Bay Forest.

The Comox Valley as well as the rest of Vancouver Island and British Columbia, have many dog clubs, trainers, groomers, and veterinarians. There are clubs for many canine performance sports including retriever field sports. There are active canine conformation clubs that hold shows. Wonderful Club opportunities are available for the dog enthusiast. In addition we have an accessible vast outdoors for the outdoor adventurer.

The versatile duck toller can keep anyone busy. We love to see our toller puppy families participate in the available opportunities. We like to maintain contact with the new puppy homes, and to provide life-time support. We require updates, after the puppies have gone into their forever homes, along with photos.

SeaTerrace HomeWe strive to breed the versatile Toller that will be a good companion as well as a successful Toller in any venue. We like to have the time to work with our own ‘tollers’ so we breed a very limited number of litters averaging about one litter per year. As of January 2023, we have had ten ‘SeaTerrace Tollers’ Litters. We are currently planning a litter for Summer 2023 and winter/spring 2024. We also have Males, live cover or frozen, available at stud to Select females. We would like to apologize to anyone who has inquired but has not heard back from us. The effect that the last few years has had on ‘puppy demand’ along with our own need to step back to ‘re-focus’ has made it difficult to respond in a timely manner. Moving forward we are excited for our upcoming litters. Inquiries are welcome.

We will only place healthy puppies with sound temperament to approved homes and have a puppy contract and guarantee. We strive to maintain the original working ability of the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, conform to the Canadian Kennel Club's published standard, health test the sire and the dam of the litter with tests recommended by the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club's Code of Ethics, maintain the reputation of these clubs by treating other breeders and prospective puppy purchasers with integrity, dignity and respect, exercise truth in advertising and educate prospective puppy buyers.

SeaTerrace Reg'd is a member in good standing of the Canadian Kennel Club and the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (NSDTR) Club of Canada.
